ABOUT ME

my name is ryan, im 23 from perth western australia, ever since i was young my family have always encouraged me to travel the world while i was young, i've been to bali, thailand and all around europe, in 2007 i went on a 46 day contiki tour and saw 23 countries, this was enough to give me "the bug" i've also travelled most of the way around australia and lived in queensland for 13 months. im now currently in vancouver n have been for the last 3 months. one thing i've grown to dislike is routine, i love doing the spontanious things and the unplanned, it just puts that extra bit of adventure in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

since i am only new to couchsurfing, i aim to meet as many new people as possible and discover the many hidden secrets of different parts of the world, i like to get away from the tourist side of things and discover the real culture of a place, plus there are many things a local can show you that you would otherwise have never done or heard about. in return i'd love to be able to host other surfers when i return back home to perth,i love this concept and i think its a fantastic idea :)

Interests

well obviously the main interest here would be travelling, but when at home, im really into kiteboarding and am hoping to get into snowkiteing while over in canada, i reckon it would be insane!! i also like anything that involves being towed behind the boat, wakeboarding, skiiing, kneeboarding etc, also like a good game of golf or watching the afl and cricket
on a weekend it's great to head to the beach or just sit around the pool with friends a bbq n a few drinks :-)

music i listen to a variety, but when im out on the town i like my dance music alot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

paragliding/sailing through the valley in switzerland was absolutely breathtaking, i couldn't wipe the smile off my face after i landed! and just recently watching the aussies win gold in a WINTER olympics
