About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live and work in Chicago long enough to raise funds for the next big trip/adventure!
ABOUT ME
I live with my Mexican boyfriend in the Logan
square neighborhood of Chicago. He's in advertising and I work in art sales. I try not to focus too much on work but sometimes that's a challenge for us capitalist American!
Basically, I try to keep my life in balance. My goal is to expand my wisdom and hold my inner serenity at all times which can be challenging in today's world.
PHILOSOPHY
Enjoy life, Carpe Diem, Pura Vida! Our days are limited, make the most out of them. Stay focused on the big picture and don't get bogged down by the details.
If you are always mindful towards others and your surroundings, and possess an open heart, have good intentions, and project love...then love and happiness will come back to you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would be happy to meet & host people from other countries/cultures passing through Chicago. I have lived here for 10 years, and have much knowledge of this city and other American hot spots.
When I travel, I like to meet local people in the places I visit. With CS, one can become immersed in the culture of their new surroundings by going off the "Lonely Planet" path. And who better to guide you off that path, than local people. Weather you stay with them, or just hang out. Mixing with the locals is the best way to travel!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Honestly I've had very little experience CS through the official website. However, in China, Thailand, and Vietnam, we did have the opportunity to stay with local people we met during the trip and it was wonderful. People shared their way of life, took us to interesting places etc. For Example, we trekked through the jungles of Thailand and camped by a riverside eating only the fish we caught and food we gathered. The family we went with took machetes to hack a path through the jungle so we would get to the top of a small mountain and look over the whole jungle. It was breathtaking!
Interests
I have many passions: travel, meeting people, and appreciating different cultures, trying new things.
I enjoy: art, fashion, bikram yoga, bike rides, tasty food & wines, thought provoking films & books.
I am a Libra, so very sociable. I have a wonderful network of friends here in Chicago from all over the world.
