🏡 Home in Albufeira
• Cozy 2-bedroom apartment, 5 minutes from Oura Beach 🏖️
• Shared with a very active 70-year-old family member, husband of my aunt (Dec–Jan replaced by Celine, a lovely French psychologist) 👥
• Guests sleep on a big comfy couch in the kitchen/living room 🛋️ (it is a public room, but we will give you space, finishing earlier or getting up later if possible)
• Ground floor with a large terrace, access to garden + pool 🌿🏊

🧑‍🏫 Daily life
• I work from home teaching German — fast fiber internet available 💻⚡
• Usually free after 7-8 pm and in between lessons
• I enjoy cooking at home — happy to share meals or try your favourite dish 🍳✨
• Mostly no meat, but flexible
• Occasionally enjoy wine or beer 🍷🍺

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started my Couchsurfing adventure in 2010 🌍✨ and it changed the way I see the world. The kindness, openness and love for travel in this community still inspire me every day. Shared values create instant connections — strangers becoming friends within minutes 🤝💫

Through these experiences, I learned to travel light, live simply and appreciate what truly matters 🌿✈️ Minimalism became a choice, not a trend, and joy started showing up in the smallest moments. It also taught me to judge less and see the strengths in people first 👀❤️

Life moves fast ⏳ — and the most meaningful part of it comes from real people and real conversations. Choosing presence over screens, stories over scrolling, and shared moments over distractions. Because fulfilment is found in the connections that stay with us long after the journey ends 🌅✨

Interests

I feel most alive when I’m moving 🏃‍♂️💪 — whether it’s CrossFit, long-distance running or jumping into any sport that challenges me. Training keeps my mind sharp and my body strong, and I love exploring what’s possible through consistency and curiosity.

Away from workouts, I find balance behind the camera 📸, capturing moments that tell a story. Cooking is another passion 🍳✨ — creating healthy meals that fuel me and make everyday life feel good from the inside out.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve run 32 marathons and ultramarathons so far 🏃‍♂️🔥 — including a 100 km that I finished in 12 hours ⏱️. I take part in the CrossFit Open every year 💪, always looking for the next level and a new challenge 🚀

Life has taken me across 7 countries 🌍, where I’ve learned to adapt, connect and appreciate different ways of living 🤝✨. I speak 4 languages 🗣️, which has opened countless doors and conversations along the way 🌐

My curiosity keeps me moving 🔥. I’ve travelled through 62 countries ✈️, each one shaping who I am and reminding me how much there is still to learn and explore 🌅🌎
