ABOUT ME

I love meeting people from other countries and getting an insight on their culture. I am interested both in a personal and an "academic", so to speak, level, as one of my main goals is to figure out how different people perceive the world depending on their cultural background.
One of my main interests has been comparative religion. I am particularly inclined towards Eastern religions and have been taking seminars in Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. I have also taken two years of Sanskrit in an attempt to get a better insight on those religions.

I am also interested in Scandinavian mythology, also in the Finnish worldview, the Kalevala and the Suomen Sisu! It also turns out that me and the Finns can also be perfect drinking buddies!

I started smoking again (unfortunately) but I'm planning on quitting, don't do drugs, but can drink lots:) Mostly wine and beer, no hard booze. I eat everything but my diet is vegetarian-friendly. I can cook and generally avoid eating junk food. I've been living alone since I was 24.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am mostly interested in showing people around when they visit my home town. Athens can be a great experience but it can also be a pain in the ass if one does not know the tricks:)

I know Athens is not the "friendliest" of cities when it comes to several things, such as cleanness, transportation, organization, etc, so I am trying to ease it up a bit for the people I meet with. What visitors generally gain is sweet memories of friendliness, hospitality and good company during their stay. And this is usually what matters the most, as friendship is the most one can gain out of a journey!

People say I am an excellent guide when it comes to going out, bars, restaurants, clubs, interesting places, you name it. If I am available at the time, I would gladly show people around and help them find their way in the chaotic cityscape of Athens.

Music, Movies, and Books

My main musical interests lie in Dark Wave, Industrial, Cold Wave, Jazz, Fusion, etc...musical scenes.
However I am pretty easy-going when it comes to music. I can listen to almost anything ranging from Classical and Jazz to Dance and Lounge.
The only musical genres I truly dislike is Balkanian turbofolk and reggae. But I can tolerate even those when it comes to being hospitable to guests:)
