About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Watch sport. All over the world. See as much of the planet and meet as many of it's wonderful inhabitants as time allows.
ABOUT ME
Having jacked in the day job, I'm enjoying six months of travel. Quitting a stable job in the middle of a recession probably wasn't the smartest of ideas, but I felt now was the right time to embark on my voyage.
I'm coming towards the end of my time in the US, although Washington has been the highlight of the tour so far, Boston is my favourite city in the US.
Looking forward to returning to New Zealand for some warm(er) weather as my travel to the US been hindered by snow. Seven weeks sampling India, via Thailand, is next on the agenda before finishing the tour with two months in South Africa.
My travels have been confined to Hostels so far, but am keen to get cracking on what looks to me an outstanding project.
PHILOSOPHY
Trubbered is as trubbered does.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When I finish my travels, I'd be delighted to invite fellow Couchees in to my home.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Completely new to this. Having been told about it, I thought it sounded a brilliant idea so was keen to get involved. I'm hoping to meet up with as many people as time allows as a way of learning more about the world.
Handicapped by mistrust of Facebook, I refuse to use this as a place of reference. I am blogging on my journey, so please take a look at adventures on www.wissonsworldofsport.co.uk .

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most recent 'thing' has to be yesterday's trip to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. I stared awe-struck down the Mall in to the snow covered distance and tried to get a feel for what it must have felt to have been there for Martin Luther King's famous speech of August 1963. The memorial itself is a remarkable tribute to a remarkable man.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm not making much of an impression here (take, take, take) but am always looking to learn more about the history, politics and society of the places I visit. I've encountered a number of CSers on my travels so far who have chided me for my minimal use of this wonderful opportunity.
