Soaking up the sunshine in Menton after long months of work and being increasingly excited about my trip to Portugal!

ABOUT ME

I am a free thinker, love exploring this world and the people in it, dislike limiting conventions, and think that life was given to us to enjoy it to its full extent and make the most of it!

However, also I have to pay rent and need certificates on paper and so I translate computer games (yes, I get to play the newest ego-shooter games for free for that), excite young (and not so young) people about politics (actually getting paid for that), and study in the south of France when not enjoying life back in my hometown Berlin.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couch/futon/hammock/bed-surfed a little bit, but unfortunately have not really had the chance to return the favor yet. I now moved back to the south of France and will try to host a little more again!

Interests

I am very much into theater and acting, usually am more the board-game rather than the party-type of person (which doesn't mean I don't like going out more than often), and enjoy getting to know new people and interesting places (the best combination> new people showing me interesting places). And I LOVE the ocean and everything surrounding it - nothing makes me happier than a long walk on the beach; sunny, rainy, misty, snowy, doesn't matter!

I also really like sports and play basketball for quite a few years now. Watching NBA games passionately (a lot of cheering & complaining) is one of my favorite pastime-activities - my team is the Nuggets by the way. I also ran the Berlin half marathon in April 2012; an undertaking which outcomes made me incredibly proud and that will probably be repeated next year ;-)

Apart from that I really like cooking (and eating for that matter) and would be happy to cook a nice meal when I stay at your place (maybe something hearty German?)!

Music, Movies, and Books

Sooo many - and each month more...

Trying to read a lot of American literature recently and really liked John Steinbeck, Henry Miller, Jhumpa Lahiri and Gary Shteyngart so far.

A few of my beloved authors apart from that are Hesse, Marquez, and Hemingway..

Movies: tons! I was very much into documentaries these last years but am slowly catching up with great fiction - recently saw "there will be blood" and "the wrestler" and was very impressed..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was rather venturous when I was in South Africa and dared to jump down the highest bungee-jump in the world (that's how they advertised it at least). It was a really unique experience but I will definitely not do it again (video footage apparently shows me crying for my mom before the jump, haha!)...

Teach, Learn, Share

I heard that I'm a pretty good cook - so maybe we get the chance to rattle the pots and pans together. ;-)

I also teach German for more than six years now and am always happy to share my language with everybody. So, just let me know if you always wanted to be able to order your Oktoberfest-Beer in German!
