About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I like to live fully in the present, and feel fully alive, although I'm intrigued by the past and concerned whether we even have a future. I love to run, dance, sail, cook, swim and other active things, including talking with anybody who wants to talk!
ABOUT ME
I am easygoing most of the time although I have strong opinions on local and global politics and policies. I try to be tolerant, to be a good listener. I find running great therapy for me, and have started running marathons. I love to hug people and be hugged, while being sensitive to people's needs and boundaries. I feel young and vital even though I am not far from 60 years old. I guess age is partly a state of mind. If I had to pick two words to describe myself, I'd say free spirit.
PHILOSOPHY
One person can make a huge difference, and working together, we could save the world. But for that to happen, we have to get off our butts and be open to each other and to change. We need to balance our lives with work, play, love, healthy diet and plenty of exercise. I find joy in being around people willing to see and seek the beauty that is all around us, even amid the dreary and deadly things we humans perpetuate. I still believe in working for peace, an endless but worthwhile job.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I watched my beautiful son grow to manhood, touching hundreds of people with his warm spirit and inspiring vision of a sustainable world, and then I watched him grow hopeless and finally kill himself at age 24. I haven't found a way to heal my broken heart but I can still laugh and smile, and cry and cry.
Teach, Learn, Share
Happy to help people with writing skills, cookery, sailing...learning about Maine and it's history, how to live more simply and lightly on the earth.
