About Me

I am an adventure seeker and love being around fun or interesting people. I have taken a few cross country road trips and have experienced all the amazing things America has to offer. Last summer I completed a 5,500 mile bike ride (self supported) from Seattle, up to Glacier NP and down through 12 different National Parks until we reached the tip of Baja, (Cabo) Mexico. This past summer I was a kayak guide in the San Juan Islands which was incredible!
My husband, Sean, and I are getting ready to set off on a road trip and are interested in camping, riding our bikes, rock climbing and woofing for the winter season in the warmer parts of our country.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to be able to travel without having my only option being a sterile hotel. I love camping but some cities don't have many options therefore I am thrilled that there is now a space that allows travelers and like-minded people to connect and help each other out with a place to rest and maybe more. I miss meeting new people everyday as I did while traveling and I believe couch surfing will only add to that experience. I want to get a taste of local culture and every day life while moving though country and city. I also love hosting and am excited to be a resource for those traveling though Seattle. I have so many things to suggest!

Interests

I love the outdoors and experience it though hiking, mountain biking, bike touring, snow boarding , sailing, gardening, you name it and I am in! My husband and I love to cook and are eager to test some good eats out with our guests. We love to travel and meet new and interesting people. We lived in Thailand for about 6 months where we earned our dive master certification and traveled though SEA. We also have traveled through China and are planning a bike tour through Europe. My husband lived in Guatemala for 2 years and is fluent in Spanish.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is great, there are many opportunities to see live music here in Lynnwood or the greater Seattle area.
I really enjoyed Maleficent that I watched just this week. I was not disappointed at all. It doesn't hurt that I am a huge Angelina fan.
My favorite author is John Steinbeck, I am almost finished reading every single book he wrote.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I taught english for half a year in Wuxi, China. It was the first international trip I took alone and it opened the door to really traveling the world and enjoying other ways of life. I really took to it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I keep an open mind and love discussing science and the universe. I am the equipment manager at the Seattle Astronomical Society which means I have access to their telescope library. I am a beginner and need practice so if my guests are interested I would love to show them the beautiful NW skies.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my enthusiasm of life. I can help with whatever needs to be done and I am very clean. My husband and I would love to cook you dinner. We can help you practice your English or Spanish. We can share great books and adventures.
