About me? We're in this together! About us:

We are Ariadne & Bruno (or Bruno & Ariadne), a inter-cultural couple currently living Bonn, Germany. We're currently in between houses, as Ariadne has just found a job at a Kindergarten, so we're in a bit of a chaotic situation :)

We both come from Greece, as in we were raised there. Ariadne has both German and Greek cells running through her veins, and Bruno is not only good at baking a good pizza up, but also good at making moussaka (Italian-Greek for the non-culinaire friends reading this).

We both studied in Thessaloniki - "Philosophy and Pedagogics" and "Physics" respectively. After our studies, and having no luck at job-searching in Greece, we moved to Bonn to start a new and fresh life.

I think that about wraps it up! Man is it weird writing about yourself in the 3rd person :P

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

We signed up on Couchsurfing hoping to find a temporary "shelter" for a couple of days, as we must momentarily leave the house in which we are currently living .

We have had at least 3 different people stay with us in the last few years , for more than 6 months in each case. We just want to say that we're no strangers to providing housing when there's need :)

When we're done with the whole moving business, I sincerely hope that we'll be able to provide accommodation for weary travelers as well :)

兴趣

We're both into Literature (not 50 Shades of Grey mind you! :P) and watching Films and TV Series. Our ideal evening is on the couch, glass of wine (or beer) on hand, watching the new Almodovar film or the latest episode of Doctor Who. When we're in the mood for something a little more "on the outside", we love going to the theater. We've also spend almost 5 years doing amateur theater ourselves, in student theater groups.

Ariadne is really good at crafting small and cute things, she loves doodling and she used to have a go at pottery (for nearly 8 years!). We're currently on the look for cheap pottery classes in Bonn; if someone knows something, please feel free to share!

Bruno lives by the motto : "I eat not as to live, but I live as to eat"; cooking is his love (after his Ariadne of course :)). And at a close third, love-wise, comes Gardening!

There's just so much. We can say that we're not exactly keen on blockbusters and best sellers, but that doesn't mean that you won't find the Harry Potter series on our bookshelf or that we haven't eagerly danced to Lana del Ray.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Make the choice to leave everything behind, our friends, our cities, our families to start a brand-new life somewhere else. A lot of people do this, and we do firmly believe that is is amazing. Maybe it's a selfish move, maybe it's self-centered, but we can sincerely tell you that it's a big deal to take such a big decision. And we think it's amazing that we took the leap.

Sharing is caring, everything we know we're glad to share. Cooking tips, gardening tips, relationship tips, language tips, computer tricks. It is really fulfilling to help someone, to aid someone when it is needed. Even when that is the answer to the question "How many minutes should I boil my eggs?".
