I'm a college student and I am enthusiastic in exchange to foreign universities.
Like other student, I don't have much money to travel. But I like to share my story in Taiwan and other countries I've been to.
I like to make dishes and bring some Taiwan snacks for hosting family in return.
Of course, if you are going by Taichung without a place to stay, my parents can host you. They love foreign student, too. They can't speak English but I believe you can communicate in other ways.

If you are 1-2 people it very welcome to stay 1-2 days at my home.
