About Me

The first thing I want to say is to fill this section has cost me a lot, so, if after knowing me, you want to indicate something that I have not considered about myself, it would be awesome.
I'm 22 years old, from Valencia. I study Medicine, I’m going to start my last year of college, so I begin to be aware that I will be a doctor, a character I idealized and deformed in my head for 5 wonderful years of college. I truly believe these are the best years of our life, although I am one of those who think that every age has its charm.
As a basic personal description I'll say I'm shy, a little introverted, polite, very tidy and empathic. I like listening to people, especially when they tell me things about which I know nothing. Learning by people who love the stuff about he/she is talking about seems like a delight to me.
I enjoy the small details: breakfast listening or reading the news, coffee with a good conversation, a beer while the night fall, go walking everywhere to know the streets and the neighborhoods, the smell of the places, the gestures of people when they speak, be alone enjoy a good book, ...
As you can see, I like to talk a lot once I've loseen up but don’t panic, I understand when I have to keep quiet, I enjoy the silence and I love listening to people.
I am looking forward to meet new people, learn, share and live :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After a hard year studying 90% of my time I need to stay away from libraries which I have been hermit and see a bit of the world. The CS mentality seems wonderful and the idea of traveling to meet people from everywhere, with whom to share my experiences, yours, places and landscapes too.
I'm at that point in life where I have not yet entirely create the idea of who I want to be and I think the CS experience will be very rewarding on a personal level.

Interests

I like history and philosophy a lot, although I don’t dedicate all the time and attention I’d want. The same happens with photography (my sister gave me a compact analogue camera I use on my travels) and cooking (I would love to be your scullion while you teach me to cook wonderful meals from your country).
I like music, like many other people, but I haven’t defined a especial taste for one sort of music. I jump from group to group.
In reference to physical activity I must say I've never been very good at sports, but since a year ago I’ve been running a lot. Just the calm running produces and the satisfaction when you beat yourself… it’s a vice!
Things I want to know more: wine, architecture and art (I really like the impressionism).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music and movies, but my true passion are the books. I love to immerse myself in a bookshop, smell the paper, browse the books and find something new. When I'm in a bookstore I forget everything, I forget the time and it’s like traveling from one story to another, get carried away by the covers and synopses.
Books/Authors: Ryszard Kapuściński (he’s currently my favorite author), Oliver Sacks, Herman Hesse, Amelie Nothomb, Terry Pratchett, Philip K. Dick, Chuck Palahniuk, Jack Kerouac, Fyodor Dostoyevsky ...; Consumed (David Cronenberg), Rat Girl (Kristin Hersh), Less Than Zero (Bret Easton Ellis), Concerning The Spiritual In Art (Kandinsky), In Defense of Architecture/New Spirit in Architecture (Le Corbusier), Jurassic Park (Michael Crichton), Flatland (Edwin A. Abbott) ...
Artists/Groups: Grimes, David Bowie, Vivian Girls, Woods, Patti Smith, Kevin Morby, The Babies, Parquet Courts, Total Control, Lust for Youth, Iceage, Marching Church, Jenny Hval, Marissa Nadler ...
Movies: Jurassik Park (is my favorite movie since childhood, especially the first one but also the second one), Tarantino, Cronenberg ... I love watching movies the nights I stay at home. Since I was a child, my parents see movies many nights and maybe because of that my film culture is more limited. So, in this part, I say I let myself go.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don’t like this section too much hahaha.
The truth is that I haven’t done something impressive, yet, I think. A friend would say that everything we put in our heads in the months of exams would be awesome to consider, but it seems an activity not to highlight.
In the third year of my career I made an exchange to Barcelona. It was a great year: so much culture, new people and new challenges. The truth is that starting in a new place, alone, is hard but has a point of perseverance and effort that I like.
Another thing that if I feel proud of is to have read 42 books in one year. In the first year of my career, I use to go by train every day (over an hour) and I used to read all the time. The train is definitely my favorite way to travel.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my experiences, my way of seeing life, lots of laugh, a good conversation ... all bathed with a good beer/wine bottle/cup of coffee. I would love to make friends all over the world and when in a couple of years I can host others, receive them in my house and show them where I live. Of course, it would be a pleasure to help them in whatever they need.
In resume, be a good host, not bother too much and let a good experiences to my host.
