One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbing Mount Fuji in Japan (Elevation, 3,776 m (12,388 ft) overnight to watch the sunrise in the land of the Rising Sun :-)
I did the same in Mount Teide ( highest peak in Spain in Tenerife, Canary Islands). Mt. Teide kind of lunar landscape is singularly impressive.
Watching a total solar eclipse in the desert of Libya, March 2006.
Taking a ship in Tokyo to the Ogasawara Islands (very small islands 800 km south Tokyo) I swimmed with dolphins (and sharks!) there.
Sleeping in a buddhist monastery in my trekking to the Everest base camp in Nepal.
To awake the 1st of January 2001 (1st day of the New Millenium) in a very small village in the Atlas mountains (Morocco). The second night I slept in a mountain hut and the next day I climbed to the top of Djebel Toubkal, the highest peak in Northern Africa. I went to Marrakech by train (Barcelona-Algeciras , took a ferry to cross the Strait of Gibraltar, then Tangier - Casablanca by night train & local train to Marrakech. It's easier getting there by plane but I liked doing it this way :-)
Flying over the Grand Canyon (USA) by helicopter.
Playing a chess game vs the World Chess Champion, the Indian Vishwanathan Anand, in Zürich, summer2009. I lost :-)
