About Me

Im an artist taking time off from mind numbing work to develop a relationship with myself through the pursuit of developing my crafts. I've written and am rewritting two books that I'm looking to self publish and stick in a thrift store somewhere along with a small collection of poems. I paint to the best of my ability and succeed mostly in making the biggest most beautiful mess I can manage with whatever medium I come across, cardboard being my preferred canvas due to its freeness and my own desire to turn waste into something eternal. I played clarinet for six years in highschool and have only just really begun to cherish the intimacy of playing it again. I've lost some of the technique but none of the love. Im a music enthusiast refusing to tie myself to only two kinds of music and have picked up a mandolin, a violin, a harmonica, a keyboard, a trumpet along with my clarinet in hopes that all of this free time and a little humbling will make something shake. I lust for travel and have recently moved into a commercial box truck with my two best friends in South Philly bordering the Delaware River to hopefully see the country a piece at a time and then venture out from there. I have not resolved on doing any one thing with my life because I have realized that I am not any one thing and that all things together make every individual into one.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Im seeking the help of my community. Traveling to new orleans for wwoof host.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It might not be amazing to all but it just about does it for me. My friend Stephen and I have just recently begun talks of starting a non profit organization called The People. We are interested in building a low impact minimalist infrastructure within the community of Philadelphia. Our goals are self sustainability (permaculture for food, Earth power for energy, tiny dwellings, and water collection and purification) on a decentralized level; apprenticeship for trades; waste reduction through not only recycling but minimal consumption; community cooperation for survival instead of competition through time banks and a barter system; the abolition of money; and above all the universal love without fear of discrimination towards class, creed or color
We have quit our jobs that glorified and perpetually propelled consumption without regard for the environment.
We have drastically reduced out carbon footprint by moving into a 22 foot 1990 Iveco that we hope to soon power with the Sun and Wind and run on biodiesel
We are seeking volunteers for soil development through the winter, compost collection for fertilization, plot research, community outreach, and musical collaboration and learning. Had to throw that one in there for myself. The only requirement is Love.

Teach, Learn, Share

Update: Lost the box truck to capitalism and private property. Hitting the road with what my mama gave me. Still trying to see the country on foot. Everything i own on my back
