About Me

Hi there, art history teacher here! Welcome.
I consider myself zenbuddhist, so I am trying to enjoy everything and be really kind to every person I meet. I love to travel and especially I fell in love with UK.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Oh, that's very interesting story of course. I would like to meet new poeple from different countries, and I would like to have the opportunity to meet new poeple abroad and be a visitor in their humble world. :) I also have no experience with it, so I would like to have a new experience.

Also, I really believe, that meeting foreigners would teach us to live with the knowledge of differences between people, and the knowledge that being different is ok.

Interests

As I mentioned before arts of all kinds. Music - jazz and classics, Fine arts - contemporary, modern and art noveau, theatre - alternative and avantgarde, architecture - functionalism and postmodernism... etc.
Also I like philosophical discussions about nothing! Let's have a cuppa and enjoy it!

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite music? Well, starting with classic, it would be baroque Haendel, Purcell, Britten, Janáček, Glass, Monk, Reich and others...
Regarding Jazz I should mention Diana Krall, Chick Corea, Nina Simone, Melody Gardot and other smooth and cool variants (and swing also!).

Movies. This is more difficult for me. I really enjoyed movies by Ingmar Bergman, but I also like all the Monty Python's, and for example also Donnie Darko, Harold and Maude etc. Not to mention my passion for anime. Say hello to Hayao Myiazaki!

Books - Wow. Since I love cooking also, I have some interesting cookbooks, but I love John Irving, Haruki Murakami, Joseph Heller...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have a wonderful and meaningful job. That is really an achievement.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a history of art (I am studying it at university level for fifth year), and I can cook and bake (quite well I hope). I would like to learn japanese and I would love to resurrect my spanish language skills.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My cooking skills, some typical czech food (I am not beer-person, I am wierd czech, I know)...

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Monaco, Scotland, Slovakia, Spain, Wales

Countries I’ve Lived In

Czech Republic
