About Me
Hi there!
I'm a twenty years old chemistry student from Amsterdam. I do a 'liberal arts & sciences' program in which I had subjects ranging from philosophy to the natural sciences' and chemistry is my specialization. Currently I'm doing my research project at Green Chemistry Centre at university of York in which I work on extracting high value chemicals from waste orange peel. This means that my workplace constantly smells like oranges :-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think couchsurfing is a great way to quite easily visit new places and discover hidden gems in cities where you've already been. I'm happy to show visiting couchsurfers around Amsterdam and show you a different city than you'll find in the tourist guides ;-)
Also I organise something called: 'International Language Café Amsterdam' which is a weekly recurring free event on thursdays at 20:00 where international people come together and practice languages, meet each other and discover new cultures. Great for visiting couchsurfers. See: https://www.facebook.com/ILCAmsterdam for more info ;-)
Interests
Hitchhiking! I've hitchiked on Iceland and all over Western-Europe, it's a great way of meeting new people and hear interesting stories.
I'm into sports. Mostly running and swimming during the winter and as soon as the winter is chased away by the spring sun I get onto my road bike and love to cycle. I'm doing my first half-ironman triathlon soon. Looking forward to it!
I love cooking, theatre, writing short stories and having interesting conversations.
