About Me

I studied PR and media marketing. On bachelor's degree I was on comparative studies of civilization (mysterious name :P - I studied anthropology and history of different cultures). I am very open and tolerant person. My family is a mix of characteristic personalies with various views to the world. For example, my grandfather was a painter, my uncle is a pianist, and my dad is a biology lecturer at university. Growing up in such an environment I became a person with a colorful personality:

Some interesting facts:

My family comes from Bialowieza, where are the oldest forests in Europe. Check it out - Beautiful, isn't it? http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/33

All my childhood I lived in the village museum in Bialystok: http://www.bialostockiemuzeumwsi.pl/index.php

I spent three years of studies in Krakow and now live in Warsaw, but I also was on four month internship in Prague.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to explore different places through the eyes of the people who live there and get to know different cultures. Yes, yes, I know, very original answer as couchserfer - but it's true!

I also want to practice my English so if you like to meet in Warsaw for a talk - let me know :)

Interests

Art (in all forms and shapes), culture, anthropology, sociology and of course traveling.

Thanks to my profession I am interested in the human situation in the face of modern media. The state of society is largely dependent on the reach of the internet, television and the press - nothing new - today we are no longer dealing with panopticon and sinopicon. People are starting to have more influence on the media. Only question if they want to?

In other hend, I was always fascinated by the culture of the far east (as Japan) and in the far west (native americans). Shaman stories, myths, ghosts, and a bit of magic - that's what I love.

With age I increasingly enjoy the pleasure of listening to private stories - the little story written by people's lives - the best ares created by my grandparents.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not a fanatic of one genre of music. In this area, I like to try different things, it all depends on my mood. Sometimes I'm surprised that the song actually caught my ear :P

I love the crazy ideas and magic in the movies; combination of a beautiful image with a bit of philosophy and psychology: "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"; "Waking Life"; "Moonrise Kingdom"; "Dead Man"; "Transylvania"

Books: Jack Kerouac "The Dharma Bums"; Michel Houellebecq "Elementary Particles"; Haruki Murakami "Kafka on the Shore"

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a little chef - I really like to cook with friends. So I'm ready to teach everyone how to prepare delicious vegetarian dishes.

Because of where I lived and what I have studied I know a lot about Polish traditions and culture.

I am convinced that the greatest knowledge can be gained by approaching other people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Smile, stories and recipes for Polish dishes and drinks.

If you're ever will be in Poland, I can show you (if I have time and funds in that period) Krakow, Warsaw, Bialystok or Bialowieza.
