I'm a twenty-years-old young man. In the summer of 2013 I graduated the danish gymnasium and inbetween this and the forecomming study at the university, I'm travelling Latin America with my girlfriend.
When I return to Denmark I will begin the road towards a bachelor in medicine with the ultimate goal being a job in the humanitarian sector. But first we have to see the world, widen our perspectives and experience other cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Currently, my girlfriend and I are travelling Latin America together for minimum six months. Starting in Salvador da Bahia, we are heading towards the Amazonian Basin to catch a boat to Leticia, Colombia. From Colombia we head north through the countries of Central America, to end up either in Belize, Mexico or in the Caribbean.
As our goal in travelling is experiencing other cultures, languages, cuisines ect., Couchsurfing allows us to get the most out of our travels. For us it is not about the economic aspect, but the gift of being welcommed to the home of local people - getting to know each other, experience and exchange culture (foods, music, language ect.) and experiencing the life of the local people insted of the turist agencies.

Interests

I'm very interested in culture and society, why I enjoy meeting people from around the world. Furthermore I am more than curious of food - as I love to cook myself, I spend hours and hours on my travels on exploring the local cuisine. I really enjoy to challenge myself by cooking the local commodity and dishes. Too I love music, wether it is electronic, classic or samba. I myself play the bass-guitar and the upright-bass and like to experience music from around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy music from most genres - for me it is more about quality than form. I myself have played a lot of jazz music and some funk and r&b aswell, but I equally much enjoy world music, blues and hip-hop aswell as electronical genres like house, breakbeat, tech and dub. Right now my mp3 is packed with Dexter Gordon, John Coltrane, Marcus Miller, Richard Bona, Erykah Badu, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Dego, Floating Points, Theo Parrish, Kerri Chandler.
The books I've currently been reading fall perfectly in my taste. It is books of the authors Haruki Murakami, Gabriel Gacia, Isabel Alende, Jorge Borges.

Teach, Learn, Share

My girlfriend and I would like to learn spanish! We're practicing, but need help from people on our road. Too we would like to learn local dishes and food products, just as we can introduce hosts to our local dishes.
