Hi everyone, my name is Tan Tiam Loong, or you can call me Kevin. I live in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. I am currently working as an auditor in an audit firm in Kuala Lumpur.

I had traveled to a few countries under guided tour or holiday with friend and family. However, I am very interested in learning the culture and way of life of people around the world.

Although I am interested in visiting famous tourist spot, I am more keen to learn about day to day life of the individual. If possible, I would like to visit the early morning market, school life of students, student daily eating place, eating at the small shop in one hidden corner just to name a few. I love to know what does the local do and takes things slowly.

I had managed to get this opportunity when I traveled to South Korea with a friend. I am able to visit the early morning market looking at fishes and sea animals as well as eat at the road stand on the corridor. We even went to the musical theater although we have zero knowledge of their language. It was a great trip.

I learnt about this website while researching about home-stay and the best way to get to learn another country's culture and customs and I thought, "Hey, this is cool". I love travelling and meeting people along the way.

I am sure it will be fun to meet up and learn from one another.

Though I am still a newborn in Couchsurfing, the many positive message and stories shares around gave me a positive outlook on Couchsurfing. I hope to visit and learn from people from all walks of life. Especially on how people carry on with their daily life.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

One of the most amazing I had done is visiting to South Korea with a friend with zero knowledge of the language. We traveled quite freely with no plans. With this, we get to talk to the local to learn about the interesting things to be done in their neighborhood. I was fascinated by the amount of things that I can learn.
