I grew up in Germany, but have now lived in Australia for more than half my life. I traveled every chance I had during my uni & work holidays, but decided it wasn't really enough and have taken 12 months off to travel this year! I'm so far enjoying seeing family, getting to know other people and cultures and exploring new countries as well as places I've visited before.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste is very eclectic in all three categories, but here are some things I've enjoyed recently:
Music - Ball Park Music (happy, indie rock from Australia that helps with home sickness), The Beatles (they have a permanent place on my ipod), Soriah (a Tuvan throat singing artist that I saw recently in Frankfurt. Absolutely amazing & strange).
Movies - Boyhood, Jurassic World (for old times' sake), Hot Fuzz
Books - Wild by Cheryl Strayed (seemed like an appropriate travel read), Burial Rites by Hannah Kent, Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell, Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde, Spillover by David Quammen (an excellent popular science book about zoonotic infections).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked up Mount Toubkal in the High Atlas mountains earlier this year. That's a pretty major life-highlight so far.
