We are Brendan and Moonie.
I'm Scottish and Moonie is Thai.

We really enjoy travelling. Haven't explored Europe very much but would like to have a better sense of culture from the places we visit. Food, for example, or architecture, or human behaviour.

I'm an English tutor to international students at Strathclyde University in Glasgow. I've been teaching in different areas of education for quite a while, including time in special educational needs and ESL.

Moonie is a traditional Thai massage practicioner and teacher, helping to improve the quality of people's lives.
We like walking a lot and hope to do walking tours, explore the locale, get to know local people, taste good local food and drink. Moonie is also a writer. Her book, A personal travelogue about her first and second trips to Scotland, was published in Thailand in 2010.

We're easygoing people, open, friendly, trustworthy. Always interested in meeting new people and sharing ideas, experiences and opinions.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

We are new members, but we've heard a lot about Couchsurfing from friends and family who are already members.

The reason we joined is because when we travel we would like to get to know the real feel for a place and its people and culture.

We also want to make connections and friendships with people who have a similar attitude to life. Couchsurfing is a great way to do this. Hopefully we can find local people who will welcome us into their homes and let us in on some of the local knowledge they possess.

Moonie is also wanting to do some research for a travelogue, so is eager to pick the brains of local people!
