About Me

Hi there! :)

[UPDATE: Ok... I realised my profile is way too long.... Promise I'll keep it shorter anytime soon.. hahahhaha]

I am Yolanda and I am a 22 year-old girl whose dauting ambition has always been traveling the whole world! I find it very exciting meeting people from different places and get to know their culure, city and mind. I am a very easy-going person and I will always be fine with whatever the plan is :) People say I am a very cheerful person who gives good energy, and that I am also very funny (but I cannot be objective about that hahahah). What is sure is that I will always try to make my best to show the host how glad I am that we met, and make the most of my time everywhere I go!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've always loved tavelling. When I was 17 I took my first fligth alone and went to a small town in England to study English for a month! I also just came back from a Erasmus experience in Belgium, which have been the bests months of my life.
But yeah, whenever I have the chance to travel I taking with no hesitation, and that is why I decided to join Couchsurfing. I've been travelling from place to place (I will write them all below) staying at different friends houses ( I was an International Volunteer at my College and I got to know people from all over the world- best choice ever!) But after a while I thought it could also be very interesting meeting new people in different places and be able to give them an experience in exchange. And I hope you guys will help with that :)

Interests

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell, I am just a life lover hahaha
I love dancing my heart out. I am crazy about food, so whenever I go somewhere I just NEED to try the typicall dish. I cannot live without music and I love reading too. As you migth know already since I am studying Translation, I enjoy learning languages and feeling that I am able to communicate with people.
I love chocolate and animals, and I like hanging out and coming back home with new friends. (And sorry guys... I like talking, quite a lot hahah)

Music, Movies, and Books

I feel lukcy that ever since I was born my family has been pumping me with music of all genres, from jazz, soul, r&b and country to rock, pop or salsa. Not to be cockey, but I think I have a good repertoire of songs in my head! hahhha (Which is terrible, because I have a gift remembering the lyrics, so I sing along all the time).

About movies, I like them all in general, but I am NOT a horror movie person. I seriously have the worst time when I watch one of those hahahah

I love reading and I am not able to say what is my favourite book because I have got many. I really like reading poetry and witty novels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmm... Well I consider myself lucky and I think I have been able to experience many amazing things in my life.

I went to volunteer to rebuild a house in France when I was 18, and it was an amazing experience because I got to improve my French a lot.
As I said, my Erasmus in Mons (Belgium) has been one of the most amazing experiences I've had, and I have got to meet a lot of people and visit lots of places.

But, since I am an English Teacher of kids from 3 to 15 year old, I think the most amazing thing I have done has been contributing to the formation of these kids and see how they came with a low level and the ended up having conversations with me. That is posibly one of the most rewarding things you can get.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learing new things every day, that is what makes life interesting. And I bet since we will probably belong to different cultures, we have a lot to learn from each other.

What I Can Share with Hosts

With you guys I can share my energy and my love for life! If you are interested interested in languages I can help with Spanish, Catalan (I'd be very surprised if you could speak catalan! haha) and French.
People also say I am good at dancing, so if you are into dancing I would be a perfect partner to go dancing :) I could also cook you some Spanish traditional yummy food!
I guess we could exchange each other's experience and contribute to create a new amazing one together :D
