About Me

Hey, I'm Sophie, currently studying in Berlin, I'm always happy to meet people, love travelling and also love staying at home in Berlin. Other things that I like are food, books, cats, sleeping, napping, hiking, going to the theater/movies, writing post cards, concerts and parties, tea, the internet, the summer in Berlin... I've been a volunteer for AFS for some years now (not as active atm but still keeping track of the stuff that happens in my chapter) and always love to meet other AFSers!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm gonna be blunt and say that it's just immensely practical and frankly a brilliant concept, other than actually meeting people who live in the place I travel to, who can provide me with insider knowledge and with whom I can exchange a lot of interesting experiences, I also don't have a lot of money but still enjoy travelling so couchsurfing is simply the best option.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A thing that will influence me for the rest of my life and has been one of the most shaping experiences for me was my year abroad in Thailand with AFS. I won't say that it was the single best thing that has happened to me or the best year of my life so far but I have gained so many new views on the world and have met so many important people that I am more than happy to now call my family and friends that it's just what first comes to mind when I think about something amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach German or English and the very basics of Thai. I also bake very delicious (normal) brownies and other cakes and the like...

It would be perfect to have the chance to practice with any Thai speaking people as I don't really meet many here and don't want to lose the little I know.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Czech Republic, England, Greece, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Wales
