About Me

I’m a cheerful and curious person who enjoys meeting people from different places and cultures.

I like spending time over a beer and having good conversations about life and the world.

I’m also very interested in languages and cultures. Recently I’ve been studying modern Greek and Vietnamese.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hope Couchsurfing will give me the chance to meet people and discover those things you never find when you travel like a typical tourist.

Learning a language helps you understand a culture, but meeting people and sharing time together makes it real.

Interests

I enjoy running on trails, going on trips in the mountains and riding my motorcycle to discover new places. I like learning foreign languages and I play classical guitar. I also enjoy playing tennis and skiing.

I’m the kind of person who likes to build, install and repair things around the house.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I listen to a bit of everything – classical (especially baroque), folklore, trance, heavy metal, classic rock and blues. I have a special fondness for Greek music, and lately I’ve also been listening to Korean OSTs and some Vietnamese music.

Movies: My favorite film is Ikiru by Akira Kurosawa.

Books: I read quite broadly. Two books that stayed with me are The Timeless Way of Building by Christopher Alexander and Born to Run by Christopher McDougall.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I managed to make my own prosciutto. It took about a year from start to finish, but the result was definitely worth the wait :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to improve the languages I’m currently studying, especially modern Greek and Vietnamese.

I’m always happy to share stories from my travels, talk about music, languages and culture, or teach a few things about Romania. I can also share some basic classical guitar and maybe a bit about trail running or motorcycles.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good company and easygoing conversations over a beer.

I enjoy discovering a city together with locals, wandering through neighborhoods, finding small cafés or interesting places that don’t appear in guidebooks.

If we meet, there will probably be a walk through the city, a good local beer, and a long conversation about life, travel or music.

I’m also a very easygoing and respectful guest, and I always try to adapt to the rhythm of the host.
