Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Pour plusieurs raisons! Avant tout pour rencontrer des gens du coin, découvrir des endroits autrement qu'à travers la fenêtre de la chambre d'hôtel... j'ai peu voyagé dans ma vie, mais chaque fois, ce fut pour moi l'occasion pour en apprendre davantage sur une nouvelle société et pour m'intégrer et participer activement à celle-ci. En 2013, j'ai passé l'été en France où j'ai travaillé trois mois comme technicien dans un hôtel - resto - spa près de la frontière Suisse. Je crois sincèrement que le fait de se trouver un emploi à l'étranger est un bien meilleur moyen de connaissance que le conventionnel « voyage touristique »; travailler permet de s'imprégner de l'endroit, de nouer des liens avec les gens du coin, etc.

For many reasons! Before everything, to meet local residents and discover places by other means than through the hotel room's window... I haven't travelled much, but each time it's been for me an occasion to learn on different societies as much as to integrate myself and participate actively within them. In 2013, I passed the summer in France where I worked three months as a technician in a hotel - resto - spa near the Switzerland borders. I believe that to find a job in a foreign country is a much better way of knowing and learning than the conventional touristic trip: working makes it possible for one to impregnate him or herself from the place, to share and create links with other people, etc.
