I am Mirjam and i'm a 24 years old dutch women. I have a boyfriend, Daan, who's also 24 years old. We've been together for more than 5 years now! Daan and I are HUGE animal lovers and we like sushi. :D Daan his english is better than mine, I do understand it perfectly, but I do not always come up with the right word for things.

We are on a trip around the world and we're visiting the following countries (in this order); Hongkong, Phillipines, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Japan, New Zealand, Cook Islands and the USA.

Before the trip, I worked at a local shop called "HEMA" to save up some money and Daan worked at a school teaching maths!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because Daan and I are travelling around the world. We'd like to go couchsurfing because it is the best way to meet and befriend locals and save a little money too!

When we return to our hometown in Holland, we'd like to accept guests ourselfs!

Interests

As I described in 'About me' do I like animals. The animals I like the most are dogs. My parents have a dog named 'Ozzy' and he is a supertiny labradoodle (size toypoodle). He is very sweet, unless you do something he doesn't like. Then he will bite your arm off <3.
I like nature too, so i combine these two very often when I go to the forest to walk with Ozzy.

Every year we go to a music festival. We went to Pukkelpop, Rock am Ring, Rock werchter and this year I will go to Sziget with Daan.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like Parry Gripp. He makes music about the most random and funny things. like a hamster on a piano. (Google him, he's great).

I like the Script, Fall Out boy, Foo Fighters, Crystal Fighters, System of a Down, Coldplay... it's too much! Obviously rock music is our thing!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in college I went on an amazing internship: helping sheeps with the delivery of their lambs. It is really beautifull and special to help an animal with it. The people have bred the animals so that they can't always do the delivery by themselves anymore. So when it takes too much time, I step in and help them. I will put the lamb (whose still in the belly) in the right place and pull the legs out. When the sheep begins to push, I pull and help her a little. To see this new pieces of life come to earth is really special. I helped 63 baby lambs. I was the best thing I ever did.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a social person and I love to do volunteering jobs. Daan is (almost) exactly like me. We are kind, gratefull for small things and we are optimists. We will help where we can. I can take care of animals and Daan is great with fixing things in your house, which he loves to do! We like to go out and do stuff, we prefer to do stuff with the host we meet, because they know the little non-tourist awesome stuff :).
