Hi my name is Darana Vassária, 25 years old and l am from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I am studying psichology at University of Porto, in Portugal, and I really like dealing with people. In december 2014 I traveled to France to visit some friends and after I went to Spain to visit my mom, since them I'm in love with traveling and seeing different places and people. Now I'm living in Porto, in Portugal, with two more brazilian friends. I am really enjoing this amazing experience to study and live in a different country. I spent 10 months living in Tenerife in 2016, and I think that experience showed me how this world is so beutiful and big.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

With couchsurfing I discovered a way to unite two things that I love: traveling and meeting interesting people. Knowing the city is not enough, I must live as its habitants live and experience their culture.

Interests

I love to learn with people, and see how the life is in a different place: what they like to eat, listen to, dance ... I like traveling, knowing different people and customs, and when I'm traveling I realy like to see the real face of the place, not only its sights. When I stay at someone's house I think it's important to build a bond of friendship and respect.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love jazz, afrobeat, MPB ( popular brazilian music), instrumental music, some kinds of pop and pop rock music, but I'm open to getting to know different kinds of music. I really love a good movie, like drama movies, thrillers, science fictions ( star wars, star treck, the lord of the rings...
The style of movies looks like the style of books, but I like to read some kinds of biographies, and sociology books, anthropology and political.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in Tenerife ( Spain), I visited a huge volcano, and for me that was an amazing experience!
