About Me
Hello,
We are Etienne and Sylvain. We are 40 and 46 yo. We live together for 16 years in Paris.
We work in marketing in a french radio station (Etienne) and for a home-support program in a non-profit structure (Sylvain).
As you can guess we are a gay couple.
We both are easy-going and friendly people, looking for meeting nice people and spending happy hours wherever we can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We experienced couchsurfing ten years ago in the United States, and it was an amazing adventure : in Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico, we were welcomed by very different people, but all of them were extremely kind, warm, and fascinating for sharing with us a glimpse of American life ! As soon as you arrive at someone's place, you’re no longer just a tourist : you forget about travel guides and, for the span of a meal, an outing, or a conversation, you get to experience the very essence of travel - meeting others!
In Paris, we’ve also had the chance to host a few travelers ourselves : we work during the week but, in the evenings and on weekends, we’d be very happy to welcome you.

Music, Movies, and Books
It's hard to make a choice !
We like American pop music—especially the outstanding Madonna, whose entire discography we adore, from her early days to now. As for French music, we’re ultimate fans of Mylène Farmer: she’s a huge star in France, though not very well known on the American continent (except perhaps among some Francophones in Quebec ;) We also enjoy Les Rita Mitsouko, Brigitte Fontaine, and younger artists like Stromae, Clara Luciani, Hochi…
When it comes to film, our tastes range from classic to eclectic (for our Canadian friends : we are huge admirers of the brilliant Xavier Dolan;) and above all, we are big fans of TV series. The most recent show to capture our imagination is Yellowstone, which masterfully updates the cowboy myth for contemporary times.
On the literary side, we love classics : among American authors, Steinbeck and Hemingway are pillars ; among French writers, especially the great figures of the 19th century—Balzac, Hugo, Flaubert…
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Crossing a minor's strike, alone in the mountain of Chiapas (south of Mexico).
Racing through the streets of Hanoi on a taxi-bike
Waiting 48 hours in front of a stadium to be very closed to the stage for a Mylène Farmer's concert in Paris.
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you welcome us to your home, we will be very happy to spend time with you, visiting your favorite places or going out in bars and restaurants (or even to take you with us if you want to join us for a part of our journey).
If you come to Paris, we can do the same in the evenings and at week ends.
