About Me

I'm a brazilian photographer, travelling with my wife to develop our project. We like to have contact with local people, to avoid touristic places and live the real local culture. I'm a good cooker, and my wife, Dani, is a good story teller! We've been in Bolivia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya and India. We are looking for people who like to show your own culture with differents points of view.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The Evoé Project is a photographic project that carries the look of nutrition and seeks to portray the entire universe of food culture in different parts of the world. Not just to show what people eat, but how the food is grown and what the traditional ways of life so that it reaches the plate of the people. In addition to the photographs, the texts carry political and economic contexts of the countries which the project passes that are to the related theme.

The documentary photography has the function of transmitting the origins of cultivation, the preparation, serving, eating, customs and food behaviour, offering an understanding of the identity of certain people. It's a job that demands a closeness that only immersion and living with these people can offer.

The concept of the Evoé Project is assisting NGOs and traditional communities to develop solutions to social and economic development. As the example of the Village of Chiawa, inside Zambia, who went on to use the concept of food culture to start a tourism project in the region, empowering the community and helping to enable them to generate income through their culture.
