About Me

Hi everyone!

It's always hard to describe oneself, but I'll do my best. The first thing you'll see on me will probably be a smile as I tend to smile a lot. :) I think I'm an rather easy going person on the whole. I love discovering new things, be it languages, places, ideas or useless knowledge. My friends say that I'm enthusiastic and funny, but also terribly absent-minded. I like cold and sunny winter mornings, sniffing the smell of new books and drinking tea with a lot of honey (or maybe it's honey with a lot of tea, I'm not sure).

I've always loved travelling, but recently, I decided to take things a step further and I became a freelance translator to be able to travel around while keeping on working. The idea is to experience the life in different settings and places and explore myself through this journey. I started my trip in Berlin, Germany, where I've lived for almost 6 months. It was hard to leave this city that I really loved, but now I'm off to Montréal, Canada, to experience the coldest winter of my life!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A few years ago, I made a trip on my own in Asia where I had the occasion to meet many people from all over the world. Some of them spontaneously invited me to stay at their place and I had a wonderful time there, feeling home in places that were yet so far away from my own coutry. I was amazed by the generosity and kindness of these people who were so eager to help me, host me and show me around. Ever since, I am convinced that encounters are a huge part of any journey and I am looking forward to meeting new people in all the places where I travel and sharing a few moments of life with them.

Interests

Cycling through the city at night, reading any book that crosses my way, attending cultural events in general (concerts, festivals, theater, dance...), enjoying a beer in a pub with friendly people, learning new languages, trying crazy sports and getting bruised every time, and many more!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I regularly have some Belgian chocolate with me. You know, just in case. :) Apart from that, I am more than ready to share a laugh, a geeky conversation or a passionnate debate about pretty much anything, from yoga to politics through skydiving, cookie recipes and the compared merits of modern fantasy litterature!
