Overview
About Me
I was growing up in the communist Czechoslovakia, did always dream about travelling freely, but emigration was not my option. In 1992 - after the fall of Berlin Wall and Velvet revolution in 1989 - we eventually got the opportunity to follow our dreams, work abroad and moved temporarily with the kids to Germany, then England.
The kids got the chance to grow up in democracy, I'm "back home", setting up an international library in the South Bohemia to encourage reading as an irreplaceable part of language learning.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting people and want to use the rest of my life to connect, communicate, discuss, see the world from different perspectives ...
I know I can't catch up with all that was happening in the free world in the West. The best age for travelling (and learning by travelling) me and my friend spent asking for "currency promise", every year hoping we'll be eventually lucky, we both got it once, but not together.
So I'd like to offer bed in my place to those exploring South Bohemia, particularly Czech Canada.
