About Me
Update 2025
I've been living on the road since 2013 but after the pandemic staying in Europe. Rolling on my bike from spring till autumn, housesitting/catsitting in winter in the Mediterranean.
Love cats.
I'm independent so mostly staying in my tent wherever my bike takes me, but missing some human interactions at times 😊.
I'm in my early 50-ies, hard to believe.
I cannot host as I don't have a proper home, but I was hosting while housesitting if I was allowed - just it was through Warmshowers, the cyclists page.
-----
Ewa, once called Ewcyna by the closest friend. For years, happily "infected by cyclosis", I represent the species "individual bike wanderer" of feminine gender.
Travelling has always been my passion, but traveling by bike has become an addiction. I replaced an old bike with a better model and moved on. Under the wheels many roads in Europe, Asia, Middle East mostly, but addiction is an addiction – holds tight and still wants more. Since 2013 I have lived mostly traveling on the bike and still enjoy it.
Life on a bike is simple. The problems usually count down to a few basic ones: which way to go, where to sleep, what to eat, what to see along the way. You never know where a given day I get, whom I meet and what will happen. I do not plan too much or too often, life writes your scenario anyway.
Yep – I travel mostly alone. Benefits, which solo trip gives are plentiful, but meeting with people on the road is always a great joy.
I have a blog www.ewcyna.com also in English - it is a journal of my last trips, some photos, practical information and contact platform. Human being, although alone on a road, is still and after all, invariably a social being.
So visit my blog or fb profile https://www.facebook.com/Ewcyna-217095148465193/ and talk to me :)

*I care about the planet Earth and environment, I'm heartbroken seeing how we, people, ruin it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am pretty quiet and love nature so I sleep mostly outdoors in my tent, but at the same time I enjoy meeting people at the place where they live. This is genuine experience and give you opportunity to get to know the culture and the people more.
This is the reason, the most common you can imagine, but I also want to add that as a cyclist I tend to use warmhowers.org - a cyclists community. You can find my profile there https://www.warmshowers.org/users/ewcyna
Interests
Well, it will probably sound very usual but this is my story.
I have been interested in exploring the world since my childhood, when i used to sit with my father in front of the map and moving around the world in my mind. In the meantime I was "eating" hundreds of books and learning languages.
Then when i was teenager i got into cycling - since then it is my favourite way of relax and way to see the world. I love it, and I was also organizing cycling trips for others.
A few years ago I was sent on business to Japan and then decided to explore this country by bicycle. So i did, then from Japan moved to explore Asia and hopefully more of the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Since I travelled extensively in Asia by bike recently I got interested in all kind of books, reportage about this continent (China, Korea, others..). Non-fiction books so to say, I want to get more extensive knowledge about the world.
Music.. the best is the sound of silence.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I have done was to start this lifestyle which was in 2013.
I left my daily routine just to plunge into another one.. of moving nearly every day, meeting new people and exploring new places and cultures.
I love wild camping but still 8 years ago I woud never do it. I slept in a places I would never thing I would sleep.
