I am a maker, performer and facilitator based in the UK and my practice is concerned with offering the opportunity of the experience of time as duration for performer, participant and witness. I work mainly in live performance but have also made film, installation and visual art works.

My work is usually created for non-stage spaces, and is often site specific or site sensitive, drawing inspiration from the natural environment and metaphysics. I am interested in sensory experience, creating work through which something slowly emerges, and through which the audience identify and recognise themselves as human.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Myself and fellow artist Emma Lewis-Jones are undertaking an adventure this summer: walking the entire 296 miles of the Cornish coastal path as part of our interactive community orientated professional performance project, Wonderlust.

We are looking for hosts to put us up for the evening in return for an evening meal provided by us.

We are very interested to meet members of the communities living along the coastal path and to learn about the rich social and cultural heritage of Cornwall's coastal regions. We are looking forward to people sharing their experiences of living and working on the coast with us.

Seen James Brown perform live-completley by chance! Not an amazing thing that I've done, just an amazing experience I've had.

I also did a two week silent retreat-also an amazing experience.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My awe and enthusiasm for the breathtaking Cornish landscape. A tasty meal and good conversation.

Over the course of our 296 mile journey, Emma and I shall be creating two minutes of performance material a day, arising directly from the landscape, which is accumulated to form a 'performed map', connecting disparate communities with a sense of the Cornish coast as a whole. We will be more than happy to perform this map for you, should you wish!

Each host will also receive a small handmade book with an original piece of writing and hand drawn image, and an invitation to join us on the last leg of our journey and see our 'map' performed in full.
