I love to travel, meet new worlds, empathic, funny and ready to Go. Well-versed in the perfomer/healer world. Deep respect for the work of Thich Nat Han, Wendell Berry, Samuel Becket, Carole Lombard, Jonathan Winters, Giuletta MAsina...to name a few. I like to keep it simple - rarely drink...don't smoke. If you know the Enneagram world...I am a die-hard Four.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Community, and making a lasting connection to the big ol world out there. .What a wonderful way to extent courtesy and meet people from all over the globe. It is a small spot in the cosmos; i love practicing the art of "Mi Casa Es Su Casa." I am an intellectual geek, quiet...funny and true. I have a background in various healing therapies, artistic world. I am completely artistically bent, but raised in a avery academic, intellectual world. I love debate, dialogue, good food...and finding common ground. I rarely drink, never smoke...but I do enjoy the happy vibe of a great meal w/ others.
Interests
OH boy....I tend to be immersed in intellectual pursuits. I love foreign films, old movies, books...theatre...of all kinds. I love hiking, getting good amounts of exercise. I love to cook, bake, read, have dinner parties, go to theatre, travel, roam old bookstores, take long walks.

Music, Movies, and Books
Loving Secret History, first Donna Tart voyage...very fine. Russian dudes, most 19th Century well-knowns, In no particular order - I love .Tolstoy, Austen, Trevor, Elliot...and more. I favor the long 19th century style...I do love william trevor shorts. I am recently into history - just finishing Doris Goodwin Kearns No Ordinary Time. - a great read on WWII, w/ special focus on domestic workings of Roosevelt. I also loved .Isabel Wilkinson's The Warm of Other Suns. - the story of the Great Migration.
ton big Joyce Carol Oates kick, i admire, but oo dark.... William Trevor...the best. I moved to Portland for the books, etc. Movies - French cinema....beginning-middle-end. Italy ...same. Allistair Sim in Christmas Carol trumps all. That's a start. I like all food. Recently loving Ned Ludds in NE Portland. Music...classically trained.
