I grew up in a small city near Sacramento, the capital of California. I went to college in San Francisco, and definitely left my heart there :)

I haven't done a ton of traveling yet, but I'm trying to change that. I want to meet new people and have adventures!

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I want to visit everywhere, or at least as much as I can, and a lot of the places I want to go don't have a plethora of hotels and hostels. Besides, I don't want to see just the touristy highlights of a country and check it off some list, I want to get to know the people and the culture. What better way to do that than by staying with someone local?

Interessen

I spend most of my time at work -- I work in childcare -- or singing. In my free time I like to go out walking, read, study languages, or just veg and watch a tv show. I like numbers and logic and intense conversations. Most of all I like to learn, in whatever way I can.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

It may be a bit of a cop out, but I really do like all kinds of music. Mainly because even if I don't find a particular genre or style appealing, I can appreciate the form and structure that went into making it, thematically, melodically, and harmonically. Most songs have at least some redeeming quality.
I like to read a lot, and will give any book a try, but the ones I enjoy most tend to be fiction and sci fi fantasy, or historical pieces.
Big fan of movies. But never enough time to watch them.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

An amazing thing... tough. I can speak to an amazing experience, which was attending the inauguration of Barack Obama in 2009. I went with a class senior year of high school, and it was an incredible couple of days.

Hopefully some stories! I hope to spend most of my time out and about exploring the country, but when I'm home I'd love to chat and get to know each other better. I think we can learn a lot from people from other countries and cultures!
