About Me

Upon learning my nationality, people of the land I was traveling on would, more often than not, jolt. 'Chinese'? Well, I'm afraid I've always managed to disrupt people's imaginations of or impressions on what a Chinese is supposed to be. It is not a good or a bad thing. It's just that I consider myself, first and foremost, a guy who considers himself a citizen of the planet earth.

So in a nutshell, I'm 1) kind-hearted 2) respectful 3)open-minded& judgement free 4) generous 5) informed. I credit Vipassana with whatever virtues I'm blessed to have . And no, its not another new age philosophy fad.

Last&hopefully not the least, I'm a gay man:)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

hotels, hostels, airbnb/misterbnb and couchsurfing, having tried multiple times all of the means of accommodation on road, CS remains the best in my personal experience. The proverbial advantages of saving money is merely a small fraction in the grand scheme of things, paled in comparison to the prospects of meeting like-minded people, people with whom I may be building up a connection and befriend, or to the promotion of waking up the 'share&love' instincts in all of the human race.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love pop music and films set in the bygone days. too many to name here.

Reading is a habit I'm making efforts to reattain at present. Seriously, it's the best way to learn and grow other than traveling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

parting with a limited-edition jumper to a young clubbing kid visiting from Spain. He liked it so much and upon detecting his genuine appreciation of the design, I just took it off and handed it over to him, with a smile:)

Teach, Learn, Share

As a certified Chinese teacher to expats, I've altogether accrued 500hours of teaching students as a part-time job.

German ,Korean, creative writing & costume history ...on top of many things I'd like to learn and experience in life.

I'm a generous person in nature and always return a favour bigger in size and heavier in weight.

What I Can Share with Hosts

1) guaranteed pleasant & intellectual, if not sometimes inspiring conversation(s)
2) tips of picking up Mandarin as a foreign language and all things related to China/Asia
3) very many great stories
4) Most of things in my own posession

Countries I’ve Visited
