Overview
About Me
I'm a nursing student from Berlin and relatively new on Couchsurfing although I've had an account for 3 years. I moved out from my parents home and got my own flat a year ago which now gives me the possibility to host people. I'm looking forward to that experience a lot because I really do believe in the concept of opening up one's home to people all around the world to learn more about other people from other countries in general and their perspectives on all kinds of topics.
I'm generally very open to give you a little tour around Berlin if you're interested in that and our timetables match. But I do have a lot to do with university... I love trying new activities, foods and restaurants, so I'll be able to give you some recommendations for great places to go to.
I would describe myself as a combination of both an extrovert and an introvert, because I do love meeting new people and of course it's part of my job as well but I need some time to fill up my energy completely on my own once in a while. Apart from that I can be a bit shy at the beginning but that mostly fades quickly. I should probably mention that I'm a vegan, which for me is a lifestyle and not a diet but I think that's a personal choice I've made for myself which I don't impose on anybody. That basically means I don't mind you eating meat while staying with me since I respect anyone's life choices as I expect you do too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think Couchsurfing is a great way of travelling because in my oppinion the only way of really learning something about a country is through getting to know the people living there. Although I haven't been able to travel as much as I want to since starting my studies I'm planning on seeing a whole lot more of the world than I already have.
Because I've always been welcomed more than warmly everywhere I went on my travels I want to return that kindness.
Interests
Interests of mine include reading, playing the violine, cooking, going to art exhibitions/museums/the theatre, hiking and cycling.
Music, Movies, and Books
I love music! Listening to it and producing it myself. I've been playing the violine for 14 years now and been composing my own music for some time. Although classical music is the first genre that influenced me I'm generally very open to any kind of music because I've found that artists have the power to make me feel empowered, happy or even sad if that's what I'm longing at the moment, which I think is a beautiful thing.
Movies... I guess I'm more of the documentary watching type but I do enjoy the occasional "Godfather" or "Harry Potter" to not think for an evening.
Books are probably the most important of that "holy trinity". Reading has always been my safe haven, with a ship to another world or time docked on. I've been fascinated with people and history all my life so understanding both of those things is what I've discovered books are able to do for me. Although I have to read a lot about nursing these days I still take the time to dive into stories that inspire me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the moments I will always remember is hiking to the tip of a mountain early in the mornign and watching the sun go up. It might sound very simple but it was one of the most breathtaking views to see nature at its rawest and most beautiful form I've experienced so far.
Teach, Learn, Share
I think anyone can learn something from every single person they meet! I try to take every opportunity I can get to reevaluate what I think is true and right because I don't think there's one simple answer to everything and I'm often suprised by others perspectives and enjoy evolving as a human being.
Countries I’ve Visited
