Hello World,

My name is Alexis, I'm 29 years old and I'm a French teacher in an high school in France. I was in a junior high school last year and next year I'll teach to young foreigners in France (in an UPE2A).

I like to draw, to write (children books) and I'm working on a video game.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've decided to try Couchsurfing because after several travels in Europe, I would like to discover with my girlfriend, Marine, new places and cultures but most of all people. Before, we visited museums only, now we really want to travel differently. And we will be proud to accept people interested to stay 3-4 days in France, near Paris to discover my beautiful area. So as a win-win relationship, you’re welcome as, I hope, we will be welcome by you.

Interests

I like drawing, writing and coding (video game) for my artistic side. My Girlfriend likes also to draw and she's also a seamstress and a huge fan of theater.

We like to cook some French specialties like "Quiche Lorraine" or "Tarte aux poireaux-lardons". So if you want to try a little taste of France, accept us :-)

We also like movies, books and music. So we could talk a lot about these topics if you want, around a cold or hot drink.

We love cultural things : exhibitions, museums, plays, sports in big stadiums, etc.

I'm very interested by teaching French and learn about its evolution. So I knows several things about languages and literature. I'm learning Chinese (Mandarin) and Spanish.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music : I like Die Antwoord, several rock bands (Arctic Monkeys, Archive, Arcade Fire, etc.), some soul or rnb singers (Beyoncé, Adele, Alice Russell, Aloe Blacc), some old bands like The Beatles or Led Zeppelin and French singers like Camille or Luce. And also some French bands as Detroit, La Femme and great groups like Gorillaz or Ibrahim Maalouf (jazz).

Movies : Mad Max (the last one), Batman (Nolan), Japanese movies (Miike, Kitano, Kurosawa), Corean movies (Park Chan-Wook...), French movies (old movies from the 50's with great actors as Jean Gabin).

Authors : Charles Baudelaire, Louis Ferdinand Céline, Milan Kundera, Guillaume Apollinaire, Edgar Allan Poe, Ray Bradebury, Aldous Huxley...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've survived the cold of last winter at Prague !

I've visited a jail at Dublin and the museum of French fries in Belgium (Amazing !).
