About Me

Hi, i'll visit cologne for a week, meeting with some people over recording music and some organisational things around it that might take place further north in NRW in Autumn. I think i'm relyable, friendly, pretty non-physical respectfull non-interferring. I speak english, german and with some re into it - basic dutch, french, danish and swedish. Apart from europe i've lived in Australia and San Diego/U.S. I'd be very happy to meet people who are longer term Cologniers' , both if you made your way from elswhere and too if you're native. To me Cologne is a real place , where things come together. Look up my profile or fb ryan june kent if you like, if you have a spare corner or know of one, send a note, Yours, ry

what i filled in to the profile :
Hello.
I live in the country side, some 4 miles from Glastonbury and Somerton and 30 miles from a Bristol. I actually got only one room, but it's spacious and the shared spaces -kitchen/living room- are spacious too. I got bicycles to connect to small town and country-wide buses. It's a nice green place to visit.
Currently i travel in particular to produce music. (After some history and education i look for musicians and bands on local-, amateur- or semi-profi level, who'd like a co-operation with a producer for their recordings.) I hope visiting people locally can make it easier to understand the area, the people around, and to find through locallities. But i'm always happy to get to know people in general, that's before any purposes.

What else i wrote here is all a bit long, just answering all questions, i haven't yet edited it to half lenght//
About Me .
Actually i should say i'm ..sick :-) of travelling. i lived in 4 different countries until i was 17, due to the Airline Job of my parents. (and i hated breaking up with friends, school a.o - that went along with it-).
(netherlands, great britain, denmark, germany).
But that's past.
I had a longterm job in music retail(in the same countries) and have now started another path, that walks into producing music and working for starting artists.
----------------------------------------------------------------
On one hand my life was though normal, all the time untill now. I like my family(incl. 2 sisters), relatives, - they are caring and with living-, open minds.

I've lived and worked now 7 years in a row in my mothers homecountry UK. My base is in the countryside, but for the college and some jobs i live in a place in Bristol too.
I've almost always lived in living-communities, since end of school.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hope it's enriching for the one who hosts, that they end with new good things, views, contacts they weren't expecting. Same the other way round.

People have always stayed at my places and when i travelled it went always along with staying over at other people's,
but when it's not yet someone you know and you've only just made contact, it askes you a lot more, to really be present and not to circle aroud you own head, that's good - while on planned travel and with familiar company you'd easily go without really having left.

Interests

Creativity, whatever it is - from cooking to changing the world,
i'm practical, i believe in doing constructive things.
Something from nothing.

Apart from that: d.iy. sports like Jogging, Swimming, Ball Games.
Nature! Camping. Campfires.
(Playing amateur music(+ and in case everything else that has to do with music,
i can process compositions and recordings.)
I write, songs, short stories, articles.
Healthy cooking.
Cultures. Whatever i haven't tried and you're up to.

Music, Movies, and Books

(Live's become too busy to read long contexts anymore, That's bad. I'd say reading is better than any other medium )
what i though read/watched: - such as:
Books: - The Catcher in the Rhye,
- Lord of the Rings.
Other: - Documentations, Biographies, Features a.o.
which are a shorter read, in specified magazines or similar media.
Films: - Alice in Wonderland, (J.Depp version),
- The Hunger Games, (first film),
- Films by Q.Tarantino,

I do like funny things, Comedy, some Animation. For no sense.
Classic ones too, like Gary Larson, Nemi.

Music: - I guess music is some of the last healthy things that human still does on this planet? From kids noises to punk to divine art (or so, :-) I actually like some of all of it - in every type of music that human yet created , there's something that really fascinates me.
the less I know it, the more I try and find out.

A personal start i had with Nirvana (music band) and went on with all art that's alternative/experimental. Maybe because it came in the right moment, and it was more than just teenage fan music, i encouraged me to be me , to be honest, and make something of things, to do it myself or with people i'm with, - and not to rely on society's got it all.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went for a holiday on my own, walking in the north of scandinavia through nature during winter, over 10 weeks, with almost no contact to other people.

(After the retail 'carreer' i had a break, playing music in the streets in european cities with a swedish friend, for almost a year - the journey could fill a book.
After that we travelled to Down-Under, incl. a journey through the deserts, basic life, about 3 months.)

Teach, Learn, Share

Meeting people means to understand, like seeing through other peoples eyes.
( i like quotes like: 'i know that i don't know anything' - ! )

What I Can Share with Hosts

If i'm left on my own and not going to a job, i usually work on something, be in town, libraries, suitable places, and do a lot like sports. But being with people i like all the practical things, that maintain the life, the leisure too, the exchange about everything, discussions.
I hope it's always inspiring, the things you didn't know they would work, you never heard of and didn't expect.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When i grew up, all the moving around was more of a cross to carry, but since then i'm with a very open and universal approach to everything, i hope it's funny - for even the simplest things.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've experience from childcare, housekeeping, to d.i.y.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I care about the spaces i've to do with
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If it's for longer, or in whichever context, i'd share the rent!
