I am an engineering student at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. I was born and raised in Windhoek in Namibia. It has always been my dream to see as much of the world as possible. There is so much to see and do and so many places to go. I want to experience all this wonderful planet has to offer before I die.

I know I'm new on here, but I never had an opportunity to travel like this before. It does not make me any less passionate about it. I'm still learning about couchsurfing but I have tried to make my profile as best as possible.

I cannot accept hosts currently because I live in a University residence but as soon as I have my own place to live I plan on making it available for couchsurfers.

It is the best way to travel through an unkown country, make new friends, and not just see the country through the eyes of a tourist, but truly get to know it as its people know it.

Music: Mostly rock, but I have a wide range of tastes. Awolnation, Bastille, Bowling For Soup, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Fall Out Boy, Flobots, Fun., Green Day, Imagine Dragons, Kongos, Lindsey Stirling, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Noah And The Whale, Of Monsters And Men, OneRepublic, Panic! At The Disco. Recently I've been getting into and trying to listen to more of Avenged Sevenfold, Gym Class Heroes, Metallica, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, Snow Patrol.

Movies: In no particular order other than how I remembered them: The Shawshank Redemption, Die Hard, Forrest Gump, Star Wars, Rango, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Avengers (and all the related movies), Mad Max (especially Fury Road), Mr. Nobody, Donnie Darko, Inception, Horrible Bosses, The Lego Movie, Interstellar, V for Vendetta, Django Unchained, Birdman, The Theory Of Everything, Kickass, Primer, The Matrix, 21 Jump Street.

Books: I've read more books than I've done anything else in the world. Patrick Ness (Chaos Walking, More Than This), Terry Pratchett (Discworld, Nation, The Bromeliad, The Long Earth (with Stephen Baxter)), Jules Verne (20000 Leagues Under The Sea, Around The World In 80 Days), HG Wells (The War Of The Worlds, The Invisible Man, The Time Machine), Philip K. Dick (A multitude of his short stories), JRR Tolkien (The Lord Of The Rings, The Hobbit), George RR Martin (A Song Of Ice And Fire), Anthony Horowitz (Alex Rider, The Diamond Brothers), CS Lewis (The Chronicles Of Narnia, Boxen), Nick Harkaway (The Gone-Away World), Philip Reeve (Mortal Engines, Here Lies Arthur), Neil Gaiman (M is For Magic, and I own and have yet to read American Gods, and The Ocean At The End Of The Lane), JK Rowling (Harry Potter). I managed to get myself all the way to Italy, from a country that's not even my own, while studying engineering and writing exams, living in a hostel away from most people I know. Best decision of my life.
