About Me

Hi, I am Henry.

I grew up in a small farm in Taiwan and I came to the US in 2008. I am a college student interested in culture, sociology, law and accounting. Besides school, I have been involved with school newspaper and managed the school's basketball team. In recent years I have grown a serious and strong interest in Iceland due to the shared value and respectful culture it exhibits. I am planning on going there to see the country and meet the people myself. I cannot do this alone and I need your help. Any help is appreciated. Please contact me via email and definitely check out my Facebook and LinkedIn profiles. I am not a verified member because I am saving money for my trip.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am strongly interested in learning different cultures. I am on Couchsurfing.com because I believe that is the fastest way for me to immerse and assimilate into the local culture as well as interacting with people and further expand my knowledge and contact. I hope this profile can be the start of our friendship.

Favorite music: "See you again" "Cheerleader" "Open your heart and let the sunshine in"
Favorite Movie: "Tuesday with Morrie"
Favorite Book: "Perks of Being a Wallflower" "The Road" "The Memoir of a Geisha" "The Kite Runner" "Forrest Gump"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am currently involved with this program in my college called "International Friendly Program." I volunteer every week to teach international students english and to help them to better adjust to American culture. A little help goes a long way and this program really helped me to become a better person. Helping those international students really reminds me of myself seven years ago when I first came to the US. Life is not about where you came from but it's about where you're going. I hope one day the people I have helped will help others and carry down the love.
