About Me

Grew up just outside of Boston, MA USA. For the last 16 years I have been in international education. I am fun loving person with a positive attitude. I love history: people, places, cultures. I love an adventure and the unusual. Freedom from religiously/politically affiliation helps me be who I am whilst celebrating others for who they are.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Actually I am bran new at Couchsurfing. The catalyst is a planned Workshop at the International School of Luxembourg in late Sept. 2015. I will see how that experience goes and hopefully become a regular as I enjoy traveling.

Interests

History is a great interest of mine--people, places, cultures! I enjoy philosophy, reading, the water and food.

Music, Movies, and Books

I cannot say I have a favorite type of music. I like all music besides for country for the most part. As for movies, I am pretty open as well besides for horror. But, I must say that Sci-Fi is a big plus in my eyes. Last year, I read Animal Farm and The Alchemist for the first time. I enjoyed them more than I thought I would. I love any book that has Dune in its title. Additional titles that hit my list of favorites include Democracy In America, Billy Bud Sailor, Song of Roland, Libation Bearers, Meditations, Drive, Let Your Life Speak, Educating for Character, The Element, and basically any of the short works from Khalil Gribran (besides for The Prophet).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Several years back I took I would guess 100 students, parents, and fellow teachers on a midnight hike up Mount Sinai to see the sun rise in the morning. There must about been 8-10 of us that made it up in time to relax and see the sun break over the horizon.

Teach, Learn, Share

As far as teaching and learning are concerned, the prize of life is to share these gifts with as many people and grow from each other's knowledge, experiences, opinions as a means to breakdown the cultural, national, ideological barriers--barriers which only limit the true potential of humankind.
