Tansi, My name is Marylou Mintram. I am from Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation, Nelson House (Northern Manitoba), and now living in Toronto. I enjoy traveling usually go on a huge trip with family once a year and a large girls trip once a year too. Love meeting new people, learning and discovering many amazing cultures and histories. My home is always busy with different guests almost every month, hosting family and friends on the powwow trail or those whom I met on my many traveling adventures.

I am also passionate about teaching cultural programing. In the winter months I am a cultural instructor teaching traditional beading and sewing classes. I share the same knowledge that was passed down to me by my kokum and other knowledge keepers.

I am always traveling across Canada and that could get costly. My friend mentioned couch surfing and I gave it some consideration and decided that would be an excellent way to travel and meet people.

兴趣

I love to do traditional Cree beadwork. I take my beads everywhere I go. I have been beading since I was 8 and I love it.

I also love to sew. I make handmade gifts that are very special and unique. I usually give everything I make away to friends and family. But the smile on their faces is partly why I enjoy doing what I do.

I enjoy listening to youtube stars, lol. People who do covers, wright their own songs, independent artists. My favourite right now is Nicole Cross. In my opinion her covers are better than the originals. I also like Madelyn Bailey, she is really great.

I am a huge fan of George Ezra, Sam Smith, Ed seeran, Holly Cole, Rihanna and so many others.

I am cultural instructor and fashion designer. I teach beading and sewing at different festivals and through teach classes in the winter months at the University, Friendship Centres and some City programming.
