I am an energetic person who loves life. I am bit of a homebody, but also enjoy going out and especially people-watching. I prefer one-on-one or small group interactions over large groups. Once I get started talking it's hard to stop me. I'm also vegetarian (I eat seafood though) and have a bit of a hippie streak. I am passionate about education and parenting. Most importantly I am a mother of an awesome, smart beautiful son =)

I was initially introduced to couchsurfing by my boyfriend, who is a very active member of the Couchsurfing community. Before we lived together, I met a number of great people who are part of the community and wanted to join in on the fun. Plus, I love to travel.

I like a lot of things, but have never really mastered any. My interests are:
Dance (Spent a few years performing with a West African dance group), Crafts, Puzzles, Books, Cartoons (the good ones, not the more recent weird ones), Music (especially live), Food (eating it, no so much cooking it), Going to parks and the beach and generally being outside., Running (more like jogging), Board Games, Visual and performing arts, Museums, Cultural festivals and events, Farmer's Markets

Music: There's not too much music I dislike. I really like Jazz, R&B, Neo-Soul, Christian Rap. If it's live, I normally like it. Some examples: Jill Scott, Lecrae, Andy Mineo, Erykah Badu, Coltrane, Miles Davis

Movies: Chick Flicks, Romantic Movies, Action Movies with lots of explosions and gun fights. Some examples; Bridesmaids, A League of Their Own, Little Women, The Italian Job, Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey and Jude Law), all Will Smith movies.

Books: All kinds, mostly fiction. Examples: Their Eyes Were Watching God, The Giver, Jane Eyre, The Secret Garden, Pride and Prejudice, The Good Earth, Native Son

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I had my baby naturally with no drugs. It was the most tiring, draining experience, but it was also the most amazing.

Standing on the equator in Indonesia was also pretty cool.

I enjoy is discussing the things that interest me, sharing what I've learned thus far and hearing what others may have learned on the topic.

Some areas of interest I've had more time to explore than others are child development and early education, healthy living (eating, exercise, yoga practice), dance particularly West African (though it's been a while since I've danced and I feel like I've forgotten everything I learned) and basic software and hardware programming.

Interests that I'd like to explore more are arts and crafts, languages (Japanese, Spanish, Italian), major issues other countries are facing and new types of cuisine.
