About Me

I am a passionate photographer who doesn't fear to share his experiences in that field. I work for a popular photography websites writing tutorials and guides for photography. I prefer photographing models and everything and anything that isn't cliché.

Travel photography is something I do for fun, and possibly to earn some extra coin. Anyhow, I appreciate arts and culture greatly and wish to experience it as much as possible.

Usually I prefer to travel with my girlfriend, therefore couch surfing will be a tad harder but still not impossible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It is an interesting idea and a good way to meet new people and experience the local culture. I still haven't done a single couch surf but I hope that will change soon.

I know that it is fair to be able to host people as well, but at the moment it is not possible. As soon as I have the means to host somebody, my door will be open. On the other hand, if you are planning on traveling to Skopje, Macedonia, feel free to send me a message or email me at petrovskyz@live.com, I would be glad to show you around and help you find cheap (but still decent) hostels. The locals here are known to boost prices to foreigners, therefore having somebody local will surely save you a lot of cash.

Interests

Photography, and everything and anything connected to it, including the science that makes it work. Additionally I have vast interest in astronomy, given that I am quite rusty at the moment because I've spent too much time on other things. After that, cars are a great passion as well, especially Japan made sports cars + the Tesla (a bit cliché I know, but you probably don't see cars as I do).

Music, Movies, and Books

I am not genre limited person, if the tune sits right in my ear I can listen to everything. However I am a bit more fond of broken beats, things like Drum and Bass, Dubstep, BreakBeat. I did grew up with Psychedelic Trance however, therefore I'll say it again, I am not genre oriented. I can listen Kreator and Paul Van Dyk, and then change to Chase and Status with no issues whatsoever. It all depends on the mood I am in. Since I've done a bit music production as well and I understand the process in which music is created I have a different way of appreciating it.

For movies, I adore everything that is out of the cliché and has a good film director. For example, my favorite movie is Prestige, followed by Equilibrium (both starring Christian Bale because the dude is ridiculously committed to what he does). I also like movies that have the African American humor, like "Don't Be A Menace To South Central While Drinking Orange Juice In The Hood". Again, what movies I watch is totally dictated by my mood.

Additionally, I am a TV Show Addict. And I don't like most of the shows that are put on piedestal by most people. For example I adore Fringe, but I don't like Lost. I adore Dexter, but didn't like Breaking Bad that much. Lie to me is one of the shows that I would kill the budget manager if I see him. Most of the shows I watch are either crime dramas (Like Criminal Minds for example, or NCIS LA) or science fiction (like Fringe, SHIELD). Of course DaVinci's Demons and Sleepy Hollow hold a decent place in my ratings.

Sadly I don't read much as I used to. Stories I prefer to see them than to read them, since I appreciate visual art more instead of written one. But I do read a lot of scientific things, and everything and anything connected to photography. That said, I read, but I don't read, if that makes any sense.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't know if I can point out one amazing thing, since I am not that kind of person to brag. But since I feel that you really want to know, I found the woman of my life, who at the moment is having doubts whether she loves me more than she loves her solitude. And I am sitting here and trying to survive. I guess that is amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach. In my mind knowledge shouldn't belong to anybody, it should be free and available for everybody who wants it. And if you/or anybody else posses knowledge which can't be found anywhere else, it is your duty to share it with anybody who asks for it.

By the same principle, I love to learn new things, at least things that I find that I am good at. I don't see the point spending precious time learning things which you will never use in your life. On the other hand specializing in something that you love to do is the thing I like to do, that way I'll be satisfied and anybody who needs a hand in learning something I have learned will be satisfied as well.

What is mine is yours, just don't touch my camera and my girlfriend. I believe in the "Sharing Is Caring" phrase, and I stand by it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Whatever they need as long as I can afford to share it. Even though I believe in "sharing is caring" I also know that there are many crooked people in the world so I have to be careful. If the things that the hosts need are reasonable, I won't have any issue sharing. Whether it is something that is unique to my culture (as in food, or things I can bring over for which they should tell me before I depart), or it is some experience or anything that I can teach them which is in my field of expertise, I have no issues for it.
