About Me
I am going to finish my PhD in this year (2015) in math and philosophy (actually, it is about logic and physics). I live in Budapest with my girlfriend, Sára, hopefully she will be my 'couchsurfer companion' from time to time.
We travel everywhere here with a bike, we actually have a tandem to do so. We have a lizard (water dragon), named Kurt, who is basically a moving vegetable. Beyond that, there is not much to tell, my hobby is my work. I will take a part-time job in a nearby high school as a math-teacher, while I work within a research group in the downtown.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The randomness of Couchsurfing seems to be appealing I guess. I can travel more, know the world better, even if I am just a host, since this kind of exploration involves people from different cultures...
Interests
Biking as a daily rutine. I am not a big fan of biking far away, I prefer the rhythm of the city, the effectiveness of biking. Climbing is a new hobby which I pursue with Sára, but I am really lame in it (she is not).
Long time ago I played in a band but since then I just collect Hungarian and Eastern European folk flutes. Somehow the harder to make sound with an instrument the more I like it. I like gardening, especially bringing home small trees from hiking and plant them in our balcony (Sára loves that (not)).
Besides that -- I know that this sounds terrible -- I love teaching anything which is even remotely math-related. But my love is philosophical logic. Basically, I spent 9 years teaching logic at my university for free...

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen very different kinds of music, e.g. ambient, electro swing, progressive metal, Hungarian folk music, ethno... I couldn't pick a favourit, though. Maybe electro swing, to which I can dance with Sára.
Movies? I have the Scott Pilgrim movie, and Wall-E in original dvd-s, I guess these are then my favorites, but I'm more a TV-series guy: Life on Mars, Gotham, Minuscule, House of Cards, The big bang theory, IT Crowd, Homeland, Psych.
Books: Maybe a cliché, but the Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy. Nowadays I started to like Smullyan's puzzle-books, though I really did not like them before.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We bought a tandem this Christmas.
Teach, Learn, Share
I will NOT write here that I can teach, learn and share mathematics and logic. That section is probably for something else, but I'll figure it out. (I am still a newbie!!)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook some Hungarian dinner, like Lecsó or Gulyásleves, maybe meat soup, pumpkin-stew, or any kind of stew. Actually, I love the more disgusting-looking Körömpörkölt the best, but I do not think that any foreigner host/surfer will approve this... But I cook anything happily.
I also can help to repair bikes with the exception of speed-changing system in which I have very few experiences only. I even can build a wheel or straighten it if it is not severely damaged.
And I of course can teach math and logic or just talk about these topics in an enthusiastic but endless way... So be careful with that :)
