About Me

Hi everyone!
I'm Linh, 21 years young and I live in Bremen. I study there cultural studies and economics in the third semester. Actually I come from Darmstadt (20 min from Frankfurt am Main) and I moved out to Hamburg after I finished school in the summer 2013. I moved there to do a Voluntary Year of Social Service in Culture, which was very inspiring (so I study cultural studies :-)). After that I worked for a year as a chess coach and a waitress. Before I started my studies, I traveled around Italy for a month by my own. This was an amazing and gorgeous experience, I met so many people and I had a lot of fun.
By the way, if you wonder where my origins are: My parents are from Vietnam but I was born in Germany. :-)

I love Hamburg! Since I moved there, I fell in love with this great city. I didn't like to move to Bremen, but I had to. My boyfriend still lives in Hamburg and so I'm still very often there. Maybe I want to move to Hamburg again and commute between Hamburg and Bremen. But I don't know yet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am new here and I would like to try this because I love to travel and a good friend of mine recommend it to me. She had great experiences with Couchsurfing and so I would like to see what the world is offering these days. :-)

I will make my experiences with Couchsurfing in September 2016. My best friend Freddi and I will travel to Porto and from there the west coast down to Lisbon.
(travel: 15/09/16 until 27/09/16)

Interests

I played chess for a very long time and actually I still play chess because it's very hard to "stop" this sport if you did it as a high-performance sport. But I'm really passive since I finished school. In my best time I could play a few European and World Youth Championships. Now I just teach chess as a sideline and still play in the first women Bundesliga. A reason why I stopped playing active chess is that I got to another focus. I try to play foosball as a high-performance sport. I am new in this scene, but it's amazing. I can show you some tricks in both games! :-)
What else to say about me? I did Poetry Slam for a year and stopped it because I had other focuses. Sometimes I would like to do everything concurrent, but this is not working... haha.
