My name is Maarten. I'm a dutchman, living in Nijmegen. It's a lovely little city. I like hanging out with friends, listening to music and enjoying life in general. I once wanted to be a filmmaker but after a year in film school decided to become a philosopher.

I'd like not only to see the shallow surface of a city but also to meet the people, who in my opinion form the spirit of a city. Couchsurfing is also cheaper and thereby student-friendlier than staying at a hotel.

I'm a big fan of Radiohead. Listening a lot to at the moment: Arcade Fire, Tame Impala, Modeselektor, Jamie XX, Patrick Watson
I like movies a lot. My favourites are: 'Magnolia', 'In Bruges', 'Synecdoche, New York' and every one of the 23 Bond films.
I just finished The Alchemist, which I liked. Now reading Narziss & Goldmond. American Psycho is my favourite, I'll never get that one out of my head.
