About Me

Hi ! I'm a twenty years french guys and have been studying classic letters for two years in the University of Poitiers (France). I'm a very opened person and I never pay attention to how people seems to be outside. I'm not demanding for comfort, always share what I have and do not care about money. I'm always looking for new experience as I totaly dislike to leave in single place. I think that every opportunity needs to be taken and the best happens when we have nothing sheduled. I'm curently leaving at Bucharest for a one year international mobility, so if you want to give it a try, do not hesitate. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I feel that it is very important for every one to gain experience in at least one other, if not in various other educational systems besides their own. A mono dimensional experience represents, in my opinion, a restriction that makes education incomplete. Would I have been the same if I had not been born occidental ? To my mind, it is necessary to go and see how others countries deal with education, to live this caesura, this opportunity that would be highly beneficial for anyone – take for instance taking a step back from one’s mother tongue and immersing oneself in another culture. Discover what kind of relationship other countries have with the French culture. Find out different realities which cannot be observed from France. What are the central ideas of a foreign literature, are they very different from the ones we know, from the ones we are used to reading? The ones that are the same, are they expressed in another way ? Do standards of living, customs of a country - act upon the giving birth of these ideas ? What if us occidentals were wrong about our relationship with the world? Futhermore, I would like to finish my studies with a one year international mobility in bucarest, that's an other reason of my presence here.

Interests

I would like to be a fiction writer later on. But before I begin writing, I would like the feel ready. I would feel ashamed to talk about “realities” that I have not known or lived. That would mean missing so much. Travel the world is for me the means of getting to know and live those realities. Foreign cultures attract me, and I would want to experience alterity other than through the media, to live it, to understand it, and this is the reason why I feel the need to leave. Moreover, I'm an experienced reader which gave me a dreamy mind and romantic soul.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We were two, me and a great friend, lost somewhere in campaign. Because we were drunk it was a little bit difficult to stay up. Suddenly we saw a water tower and do not ask me to explain the feeling, but we wanted to climb up. Obviously the door was closed but it's not a good reason at all for us. As door had windows we broke them, even if it's forbidden. You know sometimes, between friends, we are willing to violate laws. So we managed to get ourselves in and go up the tower. From above, there is no word to express our emotion. This experience looks like me : dare.
