About Me

Hi everyone. My name is Philip. I am a rising fourth-year student at Harvard University studying Economics and Government. I'm spending the next few months studying abroad in Stockholm, and will be working with the Stockholm International Film Festival while there.

My younger brother, Nick, and I started a lifestyle company called Livnlove, Inc., with the aim of promoting widespread self-examination through the promotion of the arts, health and fitness, action sports, and the outdoors.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm excited to spend the next few months in Europe, and would love to meet / stay with anyone who has an interest in the arts, music, film and innovation.

Interests

I love all types of music, especially live performances. I also like going to outdoor festivals of any sort, meeting new people, and great food. I've also recently taken an interest in surfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a huge EDM fan (SHM, Alesso, Hardwell and more). Our Livnlove platform is actually designed to promote EDM artists in particular. I also really like indie rock / folk -- lots of love for The Mowgli's, The Lumineers, etc.

Favorite movies, for sure Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Amélie and La Meglio Gioventu are two of my favorite international films.

The Medici Effect by Frans Johansson is one of my favorite books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 13, I went on a week-long excursion through the Amazon. The trip was super fun. I got to swim with pink dolphins in the Rio Negro. I was also attacked by a swarm of wasps. That part was not so fun.

I also spent three weeks living on an organic farm / arts village in Hawaii. Incredibly life-changing experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've had two summer internships in finance, and also taught finance concepts to underclassmen through a finance student group on campus. Maybe I can help you design an investment strategy. (:

What I Can Share with Hosts

My enthusiasm for life. I'm up for anything. I've got lots of stories and would love to share them.
