As for movies: I enjoy thoughtfully crafted Artwork (e.g. The Fall, The Fountain, Eternal Sunshine of The Spottless Mind) as well as those that urges one to think (Synecdoche, Blade Runner, Fight Club). An occasional bloc-buster or pure entertainment is not lethal as well.
